Best way to start with CTFs as a complete beginner?

Question

I'm a second-year student. I know basic Linux and Python. Which platforms are beginner-friendly?

Lucas Ferreira · Accepted Answer

Start with **picoCTF** (made for students, has hints) and **OverTheWire Bandit** for Linux skills. Then TryHackMe's beginner paths. Write up every challenge you solve, even the easy ones; it's the best way to remember techniques and it makes a great portfolio.

Join a team once you've done a few. You'll learn more in one weekend CTF with others than a month alone.
