How much system design is asked for freshers?

Question

Placements start soon. Should I spend time on system design or focus only on DSA?

Rahul Verma · Accepted Answer

For freshers it's mostly DSA plus fundamentals: DBMS (indexes, normalisation, transactions), OS and networking basics, and how your own project works end to end. Full system design rounds start around 2+ years of experience. Knowing basics like caching and load balancing is a bonus.

Agree. Be ready to explain your project's architecture and why you chose each piece.
