WordPress site is slow on mobile. Where do I start?

Question

PageSpeed gives my client's site 38 on mobile. It's a WooCommerce store with about 25 plugins. What would you check first?

Measure before changing anything. In PageSpeed, look at what's hurting **LCP** and **TBT**.

Usual wins on WooCommerce:
- Serve images as WebP/AVIF with correct sizes.
- Deactivate plugins one by one on staging; page builders and sliders are common culprits.
- Add full-page caching and a CDN.
- Defer third-party scripts (chat widgets, trackers).

While you're in there, remove plugins nobody uses. Fewer plugins is also fewer security patches to track.
